  • [English abstarct] Manifiestos of IFLA and UNESCO have special references to the attention to the immigrant persons and to the cultural and linguistic minorities that could exist in the communities which serve the public libraries. The libraries are creative of "social capital" and help to such a necessary social cohesion. On the other hand, the immigrants can use as paradigm to analyze up to what point the public library is respectful with the diversity. There are revised different initiatives that are carried out in the Spanish State.
