- The academic libraries face new needs that arise from the availability of Internet for the management and information dissemination and results of investigation. The electronic magazines produced by the universities with that objective, offer the opportunity to librarians interested in participating from the the Library Science, so that the university magazines in digital format also respond to international norms of edition that allow and facilitate their identification, citation and thematic accessibility on the part of the users who navigate the Web looking for a subject. This presentation, aimed to share with colleagues of academic libraries, refers to the way in which takes place the work in equipment between the academic area - that produces the contents of the academic magazines, and the profesional librarians, with the challenge of obtaining a better identification of the magazine, its citation and its accessibility in the Web and, especially, its greater visibility. Dominique Babini, will share the results of a recent relief on the characteristics, tendencies and pending subjects of academic magazines diseminated in the CLACSO`s Academic Web which has members in universities of 21 countries of Latin America and the Caribbee. Mabel Kolesas describes real cases of the form in which the library, from its technical knowledge and experience in information management, can be protagonist in the process of initiating the management of electronic magazines in a Research center of a Faculty, in this case the Institute of Investigations Gino Germani, member center of network CLACSO.
