- This work describes the activities carried out on semi-presential and virtual training of the Department of library and information science of the Complutense University of Madrid along the last decade, as well as their research lines, always in the frame of an information society, constantly in evolution due to the new digital technologies. Activities, results and collaborations with other institutions are mentioned, research projects, participation in congresses and seminars, publications (electronic and in print) both online --in real time- and offline. Recently a Virtual Latin-American University has been developed. Bibliography is provided.
