- This is a information centres study considered as systems. Two approaches are presented: an inner and an external focus to this matter. From the external perspective the legal and political environment, the new needs of the society, the economics of public services, the problems on the unknown future; the knowledge and information society and, finally, the cooperation as an affair of growing importance, are studied. From the inner view point, the following topics are dealed: needs presented to the professionals, the new ways of management and the very important question of the influence on the new technologies. As a consequence it can be assessed the value of the systemic perspective as a very important tool for the work of the documentary centres, mainly for general and especial planning.
