- This work looks for to determine how it is formed the collection of the Center of Documentation and Information of the Institute Gino Germani (Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Buenos Aires, Argentina), how it has been evolving in these last 10 years and how it is being used. The knowledge of these data will allow to realise a rational distribution of the resources with which it counts and to be able to make decisions about the discarding from materials, and of the fortification of the promotion directed to the users who not yet take advantage of the CDI. The suitable registry of the consultations and the loans and their later analysis, serve to demonstrate before the authorities of the Institute the use that becomes of the same, and why it is so necessary to obtain economic funds. The evaluation has been carried out by means of the application of statistical techniques. This type of evaluation will allow to know the type used sources more, its frequency of use, and other characteristics that present/display the users in their habits of information. This will allow to detect the strengths and weaknesses of the Center and their evolution through time and thus to be able, among other things, to realise a suitable development of the collections.
