  • Review of Susan Gibbons: The academic library and the net gen student. Making the connections. Chicago: American Library Association 2007 Susan Gibbons is Associate Dean for Public Services & Collection Development at University of Rochester's River Campus Libraries. From 2004 to 2006, library staff surveyed work habits and internet usage of undergraduate students, guided by social anthropologist Nancy Fried Foster. This volume is essentially based on those survey results. Gibbons defines the term "net generation" and presents social software tools as an integral part in this generation's everyday life. The book contributes considerably to understand internet usage, work and leisure habits of today's and prospective students.
