- This paper presents the experience of Università degli Studi di Trento on databases of scientific research products, with the two software POLARiS and Unitn-eprints. We show the necessary synergy between tools for archiving/dissemination and tools for assessment of the scientific research. We also point out some critical points of the CIVR guidelines for research assessment, depending on development of open access and Internet.
