  • Sapienza Università di Roma has started the service “ask a librarian” (“chiedi al bibliotecario”) since July 2004. For this service, we use a software that permits working directly on the web. Operators are fully involved, they know all questions asked and all answers given. Every operator contributes to the service on the basis of his/her disciplinary competence and personal knowledge. The results are partially good. We received about 600 questions in 1.205 days, and we gave 412 answers. Answers are given very quickly, but they do non cover all questions. Besides, we can not measure answers given by e-mail, in case of software problems.
