- The text resumes effects of research of Serbian book market which was done upon request of the National Library of Serbia. Besides, the text discusses some basic questions which were posed during the research, such as: How much books are being bought and read in Serbia? Why do people read in Serbia? People who are active in the market finally have at their disposal very precise statistical data on the book market and on the situation in publishing industry. In the end author highlights the necessity to make a further step, and to compare results of this survey with situation in other countries of the region.
