- This paper reports on the further improvement of the display functionality for the local classification system of the library of the Sigmund Freud Foundation (Vienna). This institution's online catalogue is operated by the central office of the Austrian Library Network, using the Aleph 500 library software. As the library only catalogues the class numbers (notations) but not the classification text (captions), a Perl program was implemented that supports the cataloguing of new local records. For every newly cataloged notation this program extracts the corresponding caption from a table and adds it to the record before saving it on the server. A similar routine was used for enriching the existing records. As a consequence, the library's online catalogue now displays not only the class numbers but also their meaning, on pages such as full record display, search result list, and browse list.
