- Ionian University in the frame of program of library's upgrade and modernisation realised the portals' work. This work in the substance constitutes a library's portal which was drawn so that it provides in the interested (students, researchers, professors and visitors) assembled all until now electronic services that provided by the library (OPAC, reference service, interlibrary loan and document delivery), enriching them as much as possible, exploiting the possibilities of internet (forum discussions, electronic subscriptions, free electronic sources, possibility of users' attendance in the collection and evaluation of information, connection with distance learning programs, etc.). The concretisation of work will be presented in biblioeconomic level of study and in level of practical application. Also will become assessment of work while are given elements for the visitation as well as for users' opinion for Portal, as these were recorded by the system. Moreover it will be analyzed how much the portals' work accomplishes the supporting of the educational process and with which way it changes or extends the process of knowledge management in the academic libraries and, finally, which new requirements are created by the side of users to the librarians and the operation of library in general.
