- This text treats on the importance of the educational, formative and informative function of the public library in the framework of strategic action of cultural and social institutions. The most characteristic aspects of the formation of users in the breast of the libraries are analyzed, dynamics of specific and general work for groups of the community are presented, the role is emphasized to develop in the environment of the new technologies and examples of good practices in Spanish public libraries are commented.
