- This report outlines the use of RFID in the main library of the Libraries Vienna. RFID is an efficient technical method to identify items in an easy, quick and reliable manner. The main library of the Libraries Vienna has implemented an RFID system of transponders, read-write units and software that forms the basis for the initialization, registration and protection of its media.
