- Digital repositories and electronic archives constitute continuously accepted means which are being comprised in the international initiatives that are indenting for open access in scientific knowledge. The main subjects of this article are: a) The presentation of E-LIS, (E-prints on the Library and Information Science) and its scopes. b) The awareness of the librarian’s community for the services and the progress of E-LIS. c) The contribution of the Greek and Cyprus team in the transformation of the data of Pan-Hellenic Conferences of Academic Libraries proceedings. The data were developed by the University of Cyprus Library and they have been transformed massively into the E-LIS. d) The Presentation of the technical, bibliographical and legal issues which have been arisen during the transformation of the data and the way they have been solved. Through this presentation the editor teams of Greece and Cyprus aim to help the Greek librarian community to develop and use alternative sources of information in the Library and Information Science.
