- A co-citation and a co-author analysis of the scientific production in Molecular and Cellular Biology and Genetics was conducted in Madrid over a time period spanning the years 1995-2003. We use ISI-JCR categories as units of co-citation and measurement for the construction of heliocentric maps. Applying visualization techniques and social network analysis, we presented three maps. This analysis reveals the changing linkages of the domain and the multidisciplinary intellectual structure of the field.
