Daftar Isi:
- Research report about inter-institutional and international scientific production of spanish universities between years 2000 and 2004 of authors with connection in Spanish university centers and that they have published in research reviews included in the databases of Web of Science. The international collaboration studies and collaboration maps are made that show the relations of interinstitutional collaboration and the main countries with which the authors collaborate. A total of 25 indicators has been used: 6 for the quantitative analyses, 2 of visibility, 9 of collaboration and 8 that describe and analyze the structure of the networks of interinstitutional collaboration. Tables, graphs and maps with distributions and evolutions of the variables of greater interest are included. The university system contributes 66.43% (100710 documents) to the total of Spanish scientific production with international visibility. The universities of Catalonia, Madrid and Andalusia accumulate 58% of the production. They are fundamentally articles whosemain thematic are those of Medicine, Chemistry, Physics and Sciences of the Space and Molecular Biology, (49.5% of the total). The centers with greater production are the universities of Barcelona, Madrid-Complutense, autonomous universities of Barcelona and Madrid and the University of Valencia. The production in collaboration supposes 61.69% of the total (62132 documents) and 33.44% of the works have international collaboration, whose index of coresponsibility is highest: 9,32. The tendency of the works without collaboration tends to diminish, to grow the international collaboration and to be stable the national and intrasectorial collaborations. The greater percentage of works signs three institutional authors. The visibility that reaches the production with foreign collaborators is superior to which is reached with joint companies with Spanish authors. The works with macroresponsibility (to 20 signers) are mainly in Physics and obtain greater factor of impact than the formed ones by smaller groups and they take place mainly in the universities of Valencia, Barcelona and Oviedo. The universities of Extremadura, Castile Mancha, Murcia and Andalusia have the greater number of works without collaboration and those of Madrid and Catalonia, the greater ones with international collaboration. The coresponsibility is greater in Physical Sciences, Medicine and Cellular and Genetic Molecular Biology that in Social Engineerings or Sciences. The Spanish university collaborates in greater proportion with hospitals and medical centers that with the Superior Council of Scientific Rsearch (National Spanish Center of Research) or with the companies. 85% of the international collaboration are made with countries of the European Union.
