- In this paper fulfils a study of the concept of social OPAC as a tool of diffusion of the information in the Library 2.0. After a brief analysis of the concept of Library 2.0 the text centres on an element of Web on 2.0: harnessing the collective intelligence. Its scope is defined, its sources are identified at academic libraries and the ways for use it in the OPAC. There are described the models of social OPAC nowadays existing mentioning examples of each one of them and there is enumerated a list of functionalities that a social OPAC can fulfil to turn into a useful tool for the academic community and the library.
