  • This study aims to create a working analysis which will allow us to establish the fixed points in the development of a project involving the application of information technology in the marketing and diffusion of cultural tourist information across the Internet. The methods employed include both project formulation techniques and fieldwork, aimed at identifying similar tourist resources on the Internet and the adaptation of existing working systems. The aim being to apply online information technology capable of providing a part open to the general public, and a private part reserved for consultation, consisting of different user profiles that will enable users to have access to different areas of information according to their category. The work consists of eight chapters that begin with an analysis of the field of study and an analysis of the different sites of public tourist organisations on the Internet, from a European and national perspective, concluding with the local panorama. The last chapter develops the information gathered, implanting the organising methodology of the general project divided into its different phases, concluding in a real project, the tourist site of the Valencian Community, contemplating the heritage culture of the region. The work demonstrates the need for a working methodology in order to achieve the effective diffusion and marketing of a tourist destination on the Internet. The implemented method concludes with the possible application to any tourist information on line, with implicit peculiarities, a few management techniques standardised through procedures.
