  • The uneven distribution of Vocational High Schools in North Penajam Paser Regency has an impact on education services that are less than optimal. Seeing the trend of increasing the number of students in North Penajam Paser Regency, directly the need for educational services is also increasing, so that adequate and equitable education services are needed in each District. This research was conducted to evaluate and determine the level of suitability of the distribution of Vocational High School locations as a medium for planning analysis in carrying out Vocational High School development activities in North Penajam Paser Regency, using descriptive quantitative research methods. Data collection techniques in this research used secondary data sources, through documentation studies. Data analysis techniques are carried out by collecting data, reducing data, and processing data by making projections, using Geographic Information System (GIS), and calculating Location Quotients. The results of this research are the distribution of the locations of Vocational High Schools in North Penajam Paser Regency including residential areas; there is no difference between the number of existing schools and the number of ideal schools; there are 6 units of Vocational High School that are included in the appropriate class level and 4 units of Vocational High School are included in the less appropriate class level because the accessibility to school is not good; it is necessary to develop vocational education services by developing vocational programs in accordance with the potential of the local area. This research is expected to be taken into consideration by the Government in distributing education services and their supporting facilities so that there are no more gaps, every citizen has the same opportunity in obtaining a proper education.
