Constipation is more common in obese patients than in those of normal weight. Constipation is characterized by dissatisfaction with defecation because of its solid consistency and frequency of less than 3 times a week. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of Konjac Glucomannan (KGM) in preventing constipation in obese students at the Faculty of Health, University of Muhammadiyah Ponorogo. This study used the pre-experimental One Group pretest-posttest research method. The population in this study were all students of the Faculty of Health Sciences with a BMI of 25.0 in January 2022 with a total of 32 respondents. This study uses the Minimum Sample Size technique. Collecting data using a questionnaire and analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed ranks test statistical test. The results showed that students who experienced constipation before being given Konjac Glucomannan (KGM) were 14 respondents (70%). Meanwhile, students who experienced constipation after being given Konjac Glucomannan (KGM) intervention decreased to 0 respondents (0%). Based on the Wilcoxon signed ranks test statistic, p value 0.000 and 0.000 < = 0.05, it can be concluded that H0 is rejected. Thus, it can be stated that there is an effect of Konjac Glucomannan (KGM) in preventing constipation in Obesity Students at the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Muhammadiyah Ponorogo. Therapy by consuming Konjac Glucomannan (KGM) is expected to be used as an alternative treatment to prevent constipation in obesity. Keywords: Konjac Glucomannan (KGM), Constipation, Obesity
