  • ABSTRACT THE RELATIONSHIP OF EATING PATTERNS WITH OBESITY IN ADOLESCENTS IN JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL 1 NGUNTORONADI, MAGETAN DISTRICT By: Wafilatul Linta Safitri S1 Nursing Program, Faculty Sciences, University of Muhmmadiyah Ponorogo Excessive eating patterns in adolescents can be a factor in obesity. Diet can be judged directly from the quality and quantity of food dishes. In adolescents the incidence of obesity is a serious problem, obesity in adolescents generally occurs due to irregular eating patterns. Easy-to-eat diets become the favorite foods of teenagers, resulting in obesity or even reaching the highest obesity rates. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between diet and obesity in adolescents at SMP Negeri 1 Nguntoronadi, Magetan Regency. The method used in this research is cross sectional. The population in this study were 494 students of SMP Negeri 1 Nguntoronadi. The sample was taken using a stratified random sampling technique with a total of 74 people. Data collection on eating patterns using a Likert scale questionnaire and obesity using weight and height measurements. This study uses fisher's exact test statistical analysis. The results of this study indicate that the Fisher's exact test obtained a significant p value of 0.004 < 0.05, which means that there is a relationship between diet and the incidence of obesity in adolescents at SMPN 1 Nguntoronadi, Magetan Regency. This research is expected that teenagers can maintain their diet in order to avoid obesity and replace bad foods with healthier foods. Keywords: Diet, Obesity, Adolescent
