- ABSTRACT THE RELATIONSHIP OF PERSONAL HYGIENE BEHAVIOR DURING MENSTRUATION WITH THE EVENT OF PURITUS VULVAE TO YOUTH WOMEN IN MTS NEGERI 1 MADIUN By: Heny Mahirotul Laily 18631681 The vulva is a sensitive area and is easily infected during menstruation because germs can easily enter and cause disease in the reproductive tract. One of the teenage disorders during menstruation is itching around the vulva called pruritus vulvae. This study aims to analyze the relationship between personal hygiene behavior during menstruation and the incidence of vulvar pruritus in adolescent girls. This type of research uses quantitative analytic with cross sectional design. The population of all seventh grade students of MTS Negeri 1 Madiun is 141 students and the sample is 42 respondents, using simple random sampling technique. The instrument in this study used a questionnaire, editing data processing, coding, scoring and tabulating, in the analysis using the Chi-Square statistical test with 0.05. The results in this study were that most of the respondents had negative menstrual personal hygiene behavior as many as 22 adolescents (52.4%) and half of them as many as 20 respondents (47.6%) had positive behavior, and most of the 22 respondents (52.4%) experienced pruritus vulvae, and almost half of 20 respondents (47.6%) did not experience pruritus vulvae. The p value (0.000) < (0.05) means that H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected, which means that there is a relationship between personal hygiene behavior and the incidence of pruritus vulvae in MTS Negeri 1 Madiun. Respondents who have pruritus vulvae can seek information about correct personal hygiene behavior so that the incidence of pruritus vulvae can be avoided. To reduce the incidence of pruritus vulvae, respondents are encouraged to pay attention to vulvar hygiene, apply positive personal hygiene behavior, especially when menstruation occurs to avoid pruritus vulvae.
