  • The lathe process is a machining process to produce cylindrical machine parts that are machined with a lathe. The turning parameters consist of feeding motion, depth of cut, spindle speed, cutting speed, and chip production speed. Bronze is a copper-based metal alloy with tin as the main additive. Surface roughness is the deviation caused by the cutting conditions of the machining process. This research was conducted to determine the effect of spindle rotation speed, feed motion, and tool removal angle on the roughness of Bronze material. This can maximize production yields.surface roughness value bronze . This study uses an experimental method. The independent variables used in this study were spindle, feed motion, and hss tool exhaust angle.rotation speed Spindle used variations of 630 rpm, 920 rpm, and 1250 rpm. The variation feeding motion used is 0.050 mm/rev, 0.100 mm/rev, and 0.200 mm/rev. Variations in the depth of cutting of the carbide chisels used are 1mm, 2mm, and 3mm. The dependent variable in this study is the surface roughness of the bronze. The control variable in this study was using a cooler. The results of this study indicate that the spindle smoothest average. Feeding motion was best at 0.050 mm/rev with a Ra value of 0.59 m. The depth of cutting that has the lowest roughness is at a depth of 1mm with a Ra value of 0.59 m. Of the three independent variables have a significant effect on the level of surface roughness in the bronze. The results of this study also found that the smoothest variation was obtained at the spindle 1250 rpm, feeding motion of 0.050 mm/rev, and cutting depth of 1 mm with a roughness of Ra 0.58 m.
