Analisis Perbandingan Kinerja Keuangan Perusahaan Asuransi Jiwa Konvensional dan Asuransi Jiwa Syariah Dengan Metode Early Warning System (EWS) dan Risk Based Capital (RBC)

- This study aims to compare the financial performance of conventional life insurance companies and Islamic life insurance with the Early Warning System (EWS) and Risk Based Capital (RBC) methods. The population in this study are conventional life insurance companies and sharia life insurance companies registered with the Financial Services Authority for the 2016-2020 period. The data collection technique used in this research is using purposive sampling method. Based on the specified criteria, 22 companies were obtained consisting of 11 conventional life insurance companies and 11 sharia life insurance companies that could be used as research samples. The analytical method used is a different test using the Mann Whitney U Test using the SPSS version 25 application. The financial performance assessment of conventional life insurance and Islamic life insurance uses 5 ratios, 4 Early Warning System ratios, namely the ratio of the level of adequacy of funds, the ratio of claims expense, the ratio liquidity and self-retention ratio and 1 Risk Based Capital Ratio, namely the solvency ratio. The results of hypothesis testing in this study indicate that there is a significant difference between the financial performance of conventional life insurance companies and Islamic life insurance based on the Early Warning System method which is seen from the ratio of the level of adequacy of funds, claims expense ratio, liquidity ratio and self-retention ratio. Meanwhile, when viewed from the Risk Based Capital based on the solvency ratio, there is no significant difference between the financial performance of conventional life insurance companies and sharia life insurance companies. Further results, sharia life insurance companies show better performance than conventional life insurance companies measured by the Early Warning System method and the Risk Based Capital method.
