  • Joining techniques are widely used in every steel construction, vehicle frame, and others. Welding seems to be a very efficient joining method for use in joining similar and dissimilar metals. Brazing is a method of joining metal materials through a heating process with an adhesive or filler material, which has a melting point below the melting point of the material being joined. The base material that is joined in the brazing process does not melt, the connection occurs only due to the attachment of the material to the welding plane. To avoid oxidation, the splicing process uses flux (additives) or oxidation shielding gas. From the results of the shear stress test, it was found that the highest result was in the 0.1 mm gap with a value of 191.071 N/mm2, while the 0.3 mm gap variation got a value of 139.548 N/mm2. The lowest shear stress value is in the 0.5 mm gap variation with a value of 83.615 N/mm2. The results of the microstructure show that the variation of the gap of 0.1 mm in the filler metal content is very small compared to the variation of the gap of 0.3 mm and 0.5 mm which is slightly more.
