- As known, most public facilities in this time especially in metropolis such like shopping centre, station, hospital, hotel, etc. have used parking system as a medium to facilitate parking transaction and to give security guarantee to parking service users. Parking system application program represents a software application used to manage parking transaction both at entrance and exit gates. Parking system used in this time generally still use online transaction system which requires to access server at the time of transaction takes place. Through this research will be develop a parking system application using contactless smartcard as media to transact. In developing the parking system application, first, system design is conducted using Unified Modeling Language (UML) to understand the business process of application. Then, this business process is used to determine system requirement which is developed using JavaTM programming language. Supporting data in developing the application was obtained from result of interview with related experts, as well as from other sources like books, Internet, etc. After the parking system using smartcard was developed, it is expected to become an alternative for parking system at the moment which the majority still use ticket. At its application, this parking system still requires an operator role in the operation and requires to pay attention that a card accessing distance toward its appliance (interrogator) is more or less 3 cm. Smartcard that used was issued by PHILIPSTM with product named MifareĀ® Classic and it has a memory capacity equal to 1KB.
