- Improving maternal and neonatal health is a major concern of Indonesian Health Development Plan. That is due to highest maternal and neonatal death rate compared among Asean countries and it’s remains vulnarable due to economic crisis.The are at least three major concerns in decreasing the maternal and neonatal death such as decision making in households level, accesibilty of health services and the level of quality services. Most womens are less power in households level, they ussually depend on husband or mother in law in caring the pregnancy and deliberate process. Empowering women in household decision making should be enlighted in all programs dealing with enhancing maternal and neonatal health.
