- As time goes by and equalization of education in Indonesia, the interest of graduates of senior high school and vocational high school to pursue higher education was increasing. Not only senior high school and vocational high school from Java Island, but also graduates from the outside Java Island's interest to continue to higher education. Diponegoro University has a high enthusiasts, this resulted in an increase of the number of immigrants who bring new problems, which is the need for temporary shelter especially for new students who come from outside Semarang during their study at Diponegoro University. Diponegoro University has had a student dormitory for new students, especially for them who come from outside Semarang. But, the current’s student dormitory have a variety problems and lacking. So, we need to develop the student dormitory of Diponegoro University that can accommodate the needs of new students for a temporary shelter which equipped with complete facilities, as well as response to the local climate which is tropical climate.
