- This research is about information seeking behavior which homeschoolers in Semarang and Yogyakarta do. Using phenomenology of qualitative method, by data collecting instrument consists of observation, interview, and documentation, done to five informants based of snowball sampling. The result of this research are information needs which homeschoolers posses consist of information needs of common knowledge, academic knowledge, and interest and talents, that focused on gratifying information needs of interests and talents. Those are identified by their demands to facilitator or electronic media and literature about the information they want to achieve. To gratify their needs, homeschoolers seek the information which consists of these stages : determining topic, information gathering, encountering problems, and presenting the result. Homeschoolers seek information using formal and informal source. This information seeking can be occurred in self-learning, learning with facilitator, and studying in group.
