- This research is foregrounded by the high demand of soybean that is not balanced by the increase of soybean production in the country. Indonesian dependency level to soybean imports tends to increase. Average of Indonesian imported soybean is 1,385,120 tons. In October 2012 through October 2013, soybean price increased 13,33%. There is a suspected soybean cartel practice that manipulate proces. The focus of the research is the impacts of soybean price increase to the income of small scale tempeh producers and households (case in Krobokan village, Semarang Barat sub-district, Semarang city). The goal of this research is to identify characteristics of tempeh industry at Krobokan village, analize the impacts of soybean price increase to income tempeh producers, as well as analyze the feasibility of tempeh industry after soybean price increase. Research population consists of 93 tempeh industry in Krobokan village, Semarang city. Research sample consists of 48 tempeh industry. Data collected through questionnaire with a random sampling method. Data is analyzed by using quantitative methods. Analysis includes income, R/C ratio. Tempeh industry characteristics in Krobokan village are small scale industry with limited capital, use of traditional and simple technology, small production volume, familial work force, and small marketing scope. The 13,33% increase of soybean price in Kelurahan Krobokan affected production: decrease of production volume and decrease of revenue. R/C analysis states that tempeh industry is still profitable and still feasible to run
