- ABSTRACT The human need for water is increasing equal to population growth, while the quantity and quality of drinking water is decreasing. According to Profil Dinas Kesehatan Kabupaten Bandung Barat Tahun 2011, the human need of Clean Water for District Cimareme have not completely fulfilled. As a result, people looking for an alternative to drinking water, which one of them is a ready-made drinking water from refill drinking water station called Depot Air Minum Isi Ulang (DAMIU). Besides being easy obtained, DAMIU have also affordable price. This is showed by the rapid growth of DAMIU in Kabupaten Bandung Barat. However, not all of DAMIU havegood quality drinking water. At some examinations, E. coli was found in the drinking water of DAMIU. Bad raw water sources and bad treatment processes of the drinking water could make the transmission of diseases such as diarrhea and other health problems. The research aims to analyze the existence of bacteria Coliformin the drinking water of DAMIU. Data was collected on 7 DAMIU to find out DAMIU sanitary hygiene condition, while the lab test is performed to determine the presence of bacteria Coliform in the drinking water of DAMIU. The resultshows the quality of the raw water & drinking water DAMIU and environmental conditions that need to be improved, to prevent the occurrence of disease or health problems.
