- Librarian holds key roles for teaching and learning in higher education as students and the lectures need a conducive learning environment. Librarian faces a challenge for their roles of the academic libraries in a changing environment: web technology, the proliferation and accessibility of information. In this context, the existence and the importance of liaison librarian is described in this article. Liaison librarian is a central role to the academic library’s ability to manage change and working with clients to achieve their academic goals. This article introduces the liaison librarian concept for Indonesia librarianship. It identifies the liaison activities as collection development, information literacy, and builds partnership with colleagues and faculties within the university.
