- Background: In the implementation of quality health services, physicians and other health care personnel in health care centers other health services were required to document everything related to the health of patients at the time of treatment or after treatment into the medical record. Medical record was a written or recorded statements about identity, history, physical examination, lab result, diagnosis, and treatment which provided to all patients in hospitalization department, outpatients department, and emergency services. The longer a doctor in the service and run the profession was expected to had better understanding about the importance of completed medical records. Aim: The aim of this study was to analize the relationship between physician years of service with the completeness of filling medical records by physicians who served at Puskesmases in Western District of Karawang period 1 to 31 October 2011. Methods: This study was an analytical survey with cross sectional approach. Primary data derived from interview with 10 physicians who met the inclusion criteria by giving a questionnaire about the knowledge of medical records and data tenure. Secondary data obtained from five medical records of each respondent during the period October 1 to 31 October 2011. Results: The result of the analysis to know the relationship between physician years of service with the completeness of filling medical records was conducted by Fischer exact test, showed the value of p = 1.000. Conclusion: There was no significant relationship between physician years of service with the completeness of filling medical records. Key words: physician years of service, medical records
