  • Background: The problem of population control needs a serious concern due to the high population growth rate in Indonesia especially in poor people. The other problem wre Maternal Mortality Rate and Neonatal Mortality Rate. Therefore the government executed society health warranty for labor services. Hopefully, with this warranty Maternal and Neonatal Mortality Rate can be reduced. However this warranty made controversies whereas it can increase intolerance in poor family towards family planning program. Because of that it is needed to have a study about effect of society health warranty (jaminan kesehatan masyarakat) for labor services towards family planning participation. Aim : To know the effect of society health warranty (Jamkesmas) towards family planning participation. Methods: This study is an abservational analytic study with cohort retrospective approach in which the samples are mothers who gave birth in RSUD Bendan Kota Pekalongan and lived in West Pekalongan area. The number of sample is 50 people collected with consecutive sampling method. Result: With the stastictical analysis we got the result that there is no effect society health warranty for labor services (p= 0,355; RR=0,561) towards family planning participation. But there is a significant relationship between husband involvement (p=0,000;RR=56) towards family planning participation. Logistic regression showed that husband involvement had a significant effect as much as 96,55 % towards family planning participation. Conclusion: society health warranty for labor services did not have any effect on family planning participation, but husband involvement had an effect on family planning participation.
