- Background: Tea is one of the natural ingredients that have a protective effect against impaired glucose tolerance, hypertriglyceridemia, and hyperinsulinemia. Purpose: To prove the differences in levels of triglycerides and VLDL cholesterol after administration of water brewed black tea with a dose of 0,45 ml, 0,9 ml, and 1,35 ml in wistar rats fed high fructose diet. Method: Design of the study was laboratory experiment with the post test only control group design using 20 wistar mice divided randomly into 5 groups being 30 wistar rats. K1 (positive control), K2 control with high-fructose diet without water brewed black tea, P1, P2, and P3 enforced high fructose diet and water brewed black team each dose of 0,45 ml, 0,9 ml, and 1,35 ml for 3 weeks. Triglycerides measured by spectrophotometer and VLDL cholesterol calculated by tryglycerides level divided by 5. Then, those variables were processed and analyzed using statistical test Oneway Anova, followed by post hoc Benferroni test. Result: Average levels of triglyceride and VLDL (mg/ dl) in the K1, K2, P1, P2, and P3 is 26,93; 88,72; 88,23; 122,55; 113,51 then 4,28k; 17,74; 17,64; 24;51; 22,7.The results of statistical tests showed no significant differences in levels of triglyceride and VLDL group given water brewed black tea with multilevel dose (p=1,000). Conclusion: The provision of water brewed black tea with a dose of 0.45 ml, 0.9 ml,and 1.35 ml shows no difference to the levels of triglyceride and VLDL cholesterol in wistar rats fed high fructose diet. Key words: water brewed black tea, triglycerides, VLDL cholesterol, high fructose diet
