- Background: Colloid administration as preload on caesarean section with spinal anesthesia is more effective than crystalloid administration. Colloid election based on solvent has been improved due to the effects of acid-base balance. Methods: this research is second stage experimental clinical trial, double blind randomized with consecutive random sampling, divided into two groups (n=24),6% HES in balance solution and 6% HES in saline solution. Paired T-test and Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test was performed to compare Strong ion difference value in each groups, whereas Mann Whitney U-Test was used to compare both groups. Result: There was no significant differences (p>0,05) of SID value neither before caesarean section between 6% HES in balance solution (37,92±1,28) and 6% HES in normal saline (38(36-40)) nor after caesarean section successively (37,88±1,23) and (37,50(36-40)) on 6% HES in balance solution and 6% HES in saline solution. Conclusion: Decreasing of SID value on 6% HES in balance solution compared to 6% HES in saline solution is not significantly difference.
