  • Background: HIV was a virus that attacked immune system of human. In advance stage, this infection would cause the patients in AIDS condition that eased their body to be infected, one of its was hepatitis virus infection (HBV and HCV). According to the transmissions of HIV virus like sexual intercourse and injection needle, there was probability to be infected with HBV and HCV. The purpose of this study was to perceive the clinical spectrum of HIV co-infection with HBV and HCV in Dr. Kariadi Hospital Semarang. Methods: This research was a retrospective descriptive research using medical records as samples. Samples were HIV-hepatitis co-infected patients in period 1 January 2009 – 31 December 2010. The data’s described in table form. Result: From 132 (39,9%) HIV patients, there were 26 (19,7%) HIV-HBV co-infection, 3 (2,27%%) HIV-HCV co-infection, and 7 (5,30%) HIV-HBV-HCV co-infection. Patients that had HIV-HBV co-infection 53,8% were man, HIV-HCV co-infected patients 33,3%, and HIV-HBV-HCV co-infected patients 100%. Most of HIV-hepatitis co-infected patients were in 31 – 40 age group. Symptoms that frequently occured in co-infection patients were fever, diarrhea, fatigue, and loss of weight. Most of sign that often occured was not the specific sign of hepatitis. The results of laboratory assessment were increased of AST, alkaline fosfatase, total bilirubin, PTT, decreased of albumin, and CD4 count <50 cells/mm3. HIV-HBV co-infected patients that died in this period were 8 (30,8%), HIV-HCV co-infected patients 1 (33,3%), and HIV-HBV-HCV patients 1 (14,3%). Conclusion: Prevalence of HIV-HBV co-infected patients was the highest. Most of HIV-hepatitis co-infected patients were man and in 31 – 40 age group with unspecific sign and symptom, and the results of laboratory assessment rose. Mortality of HIV-HCV co-infected patients was the highest.
