Analysis of Factors That Relate to Practice of Mother in Giving a Basic Immunization in the Area of Candilama Health Center in Semarang City

- Based on a previous study, an achievement of a basic immunization target in the area of Candilama Health Center was not reached. A standard of the target was 90%, but the achievement was 60%. Aim of this research was to know relationship among variables of education, knowledge, income, necessity, health services access, and family support with practice of mother in giving the basic immunization in the area of Candilama Health Center in Semarang City. This was an explanatory research using Cross-Sectional approach. Number of sample was 86 persons. Collecting data used a questionnaire. Data was analyzed quantitatively. Most of the respondents had high education (52,3%), good knowledge (50,0%), high income (50,0%), good attitude (77,9%), good necessity (50,0%), easy access to health services (69,8%), high family support (51,2%), and completed practice (76,7%). Education (p value = 0,003), knowledge (p value = 0,000), attitude (p value = 0,000), necessity (p value = 0,000), and family support (p value = 0,000) respectively are significantly related to practice of mother in giving the basic immunization. To increase coverage of the immunization program especially practice of mother in giving the basic immunization in the area of Candilama Health Center, Head of Health Center should improve information and education about importance of the immunization through mass media.
