- The principle of coastal zone management focuses on integration between the coastal area and land area (Dahuri et al, 2001). Furthermore, contribution from people lives in coastal area will formulate the coastal land use and sustainability principles should be established. The objective of this research is to define the contribution from people activities to urban form. This research locates in Tegal, as it is very interesting to be studied. Sequential explanatory method and map overlaying are used to describe this relationship. The report shows that there has been land conversion phenomenon.
