Sixty one research subjects were suspected of metabolic syndrome according to NCEP ATP III criteria 2001 modificated for Asia with the criteria of age 40-65 years. Research variables were age, sex, educational level and occupation and components of metabolic syndrome. The data were statistically analyzed using unpaired t-test, Mann-Whitney, 2 and Fisher exact test. Results : The prevalence of cognitive impairment in patients with metabolic syndrome was 44.3%. Three components of metabolic syndrome prevalence ratio was 4.2 (0.95-18.5), four components was 5.2 (1.3-21.3) and five components was 6.0 (0.9–40.3).
