  • The use of factors of production in farming carried out for generations, so the use of production factors are not measuring exactly. This causes inefficient use of factors of production. Inefficient use of factors of production is caused also by problems such as, low capital for farmers to buy fertilizers and pesticides in adequate amounts. The problem faced is how the allocation of the factors - factors of production (seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, labor) in determining the farming production of cabbage in Magelang District and what was the level of efficiency (technical, price, and economical in a cabbage farm in Magelang District. The calculation result shows the average technical efficiency in farming cabbage for 0.66, 3.03 for price efficiency, and economic efficiency of 1.99. These results indicate the condition of farming is not technically efficient, cost efficiency and economic value indicates the condition of farming is not efficient, so that necessary adjustment of production factors .. Based on the significance test, variables in the farming of cabbage which has significant influence is variable land area, seed, manure, fertilizer urea, TSP fertilizer, pesticides, and labor. Return to scale farming of cabbage was 11.48 showing farms in conditions of increasing returns to scale. Based on price efficiency and economic efficiency as well as supported the results of returns to scale, use of production factors on cabbage farming needs to be improved to increase profits. R / C ratio of 4.82 indicates farming profitable to continue to run.
