- Phytic acid ishigh in cereals grain. This compound may have high affinity to bound Zn tighty. The present experiment was aimed to study the process of Zn-phytate and its degradation in rumen fluid. Phytic acid was extracted from pollard using acetic acids solution at concentration 1%. Solution of acetic acid at concentration of 1% was used to produce phytic acid from pollard at ratio of 1:3. Phytic acid solution was mixed with ZnCl2 solution at a molarity ratio of 1:2. Zn-phytate characteristics were identified by dry matter and minerals content in the sediment. In vitro studies were conducted to evaluate the degradation of Zn-phytate. The results indicated that the formation of Zn-phytate in the pollard extract mixed with ZnCl2 solution at molarities ratio of 1:2 was 10,7 mg/L. Total Zn bound the phytic acid was 29,87%. Magnesium and Na were also precipitated in the sediment. Zn-phytate complex was degraded slowly in rumen fluid. High rate of Znphytate degradation was likely commenced after 8 h of incubation.
