- The life span of reservoirs is determined by the rate of sedimentation which gradually reduces storages capacity. Eventually, this process destroys the ability of the scheme to deliver the benefits for which it was built. Many major reservoirs such as Mrica reservoir are approaching this stage in their life. Base on PT. Indonesia Power UPB Mrica report in 2007, sedimentation in Mrica reservoir is over the draw down intake so that 49.91 % of reservoir capacity full of sediment. The solution, which is done, isn’t success. With sedimentation rate which is been, reservoir life is estimated only 30 year. Seriously management is necessary to defend their long life function.
