- A midwifery care is an implementation of functions and activities in providing services for clients who have problems regarding health, pregnancy, deliveries, post-natal care and family planning. Midwives’ work performance in implementing a midwifery care standard on delivering mothers was still inadequate. Therefore, it was an important problem to overcome by the hospital management. The results showed that most respondents (66.6%) were categorized as having medium levels of work performance, 60.0% having medium level on perception of job training, 66.7% having medium level on perception of supervision, 70.0% having medium level on perception of reward system and punishment system (56.7%). Based on bivariate analysis, variables of work performance, perception on job training, supervision, reward system, and punishment system influenced the midwives’ work performance (p<0.05). The results of multivariate analysis showed that variables of reward (p=0.046) and punishment (p=0.000) were the most influenced factors on midwives’ work performance in the implementation of midwifery care.
