  • Generally, isopropyl alcohol (IPA) is one of solvent used in chemical industri. The use of solvent need a recovery process for economically reason. The obstacle of IPA- water system is the azeotrop system condition. Therefore, the research study the water removal in IPA – water system by adsorptive distillation process with natural zeolite and silica gel as adsorbent. The objective of research is to determine influence of times to compotition of IPA at various adsorbent. fixed variabel is used to research is 200ml feed volume, and dependent variabel are various of adsorbent and feed compotition70%, 73%, 75%, dan 80%W of IPA. The process is run about 30 minute, and then product was analyzed. The analysis using gravitry method, wich measure density and plot into standart curve so IPA compotition can be read.The result shows that silica gel is more selective to remove water than natural zeolite and process optimum condition reaches using silica gel as adsorbent with feed compotition 75%W IPA and gain optimum product compotition until 91,6% at 20th minute.
