- Indonesia has been facing the Covid-19 pandemic since March 2020. The current situation forced Indonesian people to limit their mobility or social interaction and to keep staying at home in order to break the virus transmission. The government ordered the citizens to do all their daily activities such as working, praying, and studying from home. Due to this pandemic, public places such as worship palaces, shopping districts, and recreational venues have experienced temporary closures. Nevertheless, such places have been allowed to re-operate but with strict restrictions and safety protocols. However, schools and universities remain closed until now. Students ranging from all educational stages such as kindergarten to college students are currently studying from home. The existence of various digital learning platforms, technologies, and applications has been extraordinarily helpful in this pandemic. Even though online learning may have its disadvantages compared to face-to-face learning, it cannot be denied that online learning also has some advantages. In this journal, the author will explain the role of digital technology, the effectiveness of digital technology in helping the online learning process, and the obstacles faced by both students and educators in using digital technology during this pandemic.
