  • In attempt to achieve a succesful learning process, several changeswhich lead to innovation in terms of teaching material, method, realia, and otherteaching components are necessary. As a consequence, teacher is supposed to becreative and innovative especially in deciding appropriate teaching method. Itis assumed that this will determine the students’ success particularly in formingtheir life skill which is based on the surrouding environment.The research problems are (a) How are the improvement of learning achievementon Islamic education subject by using collaborative learning to the studentsof XI IPA-2 SMAN 1 Pacitan in the academic year 2013/2014 (b) How arethe influences of collaborative learning model toward Islamic Education learningmotivation to the students XII grade of SMA Negeri 1 Pacitan 2013/2014school year. While the purpose of this study are (a) to know the improvement oflearning achievement on Islamic education subject after implementing collaborativelearning model (b) to know the influence of learning motivation of Islamiceducation after implementing collaborative learning model. This research wascategorized into action research with three cycles. Each cycle consisted of fourphases: planning, activities and observation, reflection and revision. The samplesof this research were the students of XII IPA-2 grade of SMAN 1 Pacitan inthe academic year of 2013/2014. Data obtained were in the form of formatif testresults of observation paper of teaching and learning activities.The result of this research showed that students’ learning achievement increasedfrom cycle I to cycle III with the percentage: the first cycle (66.66%), Cycle II(80.55%), Cycle III (94.44%).It can be concluded that collaborative learning method can give positive influenceson achievement and motivation of XII IPA-2 grade students of SMANI Pacitan. Beside that, this model can be used as an alternative method to learnIslamic education ( PAI )
