  • This writing aims to examine the dichotomy phenomenon of Islamic education system and perceptions in finding solution in reconstructing Islamic education system to be integral and holistic. And find new paradigm of Islamic education system which has guarantee for better future and relevant with its character of islam. This study conducted by reviewing intensively the essence of Islamic education and the result of research relating with islamization of knowledge and its operational form in facing the problem of the dichotomy of Islamic education system. From the investigation formulated that concept like paradigm of islamization of social knowledge has left over many complicated problem that can inhibit social knowledge establishment. One of the problems is the quantity of teachers, especially in State Islamic Institute (IAIN) who have enough knowledge about Islam. But their knowledge of the discipline of applied science is totally less. Because of that, islamization of knowledge through the transformation from State Islamic institute (IAIN) to State Islamic University (UIN) considered as the effort to integrate the variety of knowledge and eliminate the dichotomy between general science and religious science also to implement Islamic doctrine professionally in social life.
