- This study is accomplished to reveal the complexities of implementing outsourcing strategy in PT. XYZ. PT. XYZ, as an international mosaic ceramic manufacturer, uses outsourcing to improve its competitive advantage. However, the practice of outsourcing in developing country such as Indonesia is very dilemmatic and complex. Qualitative research methodology is used in this research to analyze the complexities of implementing outsourcing strategy in Indonesia with individual depth interview and secondary data exploration set as the main data collection techniques. The major finding of this paper is that the complexities of implementing outsourcing strategy at PT. XYZ are heavily influenced by 6 factors. They are the issue of property right, human exploitation, evolution of outsourcing, core competence, workers? mentality and motivation, and issue of sustainability. In depth understanding toward this issue will help the company to design a sustainable outsourcing strategy that will strengthen its competitive advantage.
