  • The aim of this research is to find the effectiveness of Personal Vocabulary NoteTechnique on the Students’ Vocabulary Mastery which was observed and analyzed from students of eleventh grade at MAS PAB 2 Helvetia. The method applied in this research was the quantitative method with the experimental research design. The population of this study was the students of MAS PAB 2 Helvetia. This study was conducted with two groups namely experimental group (30 students) and control group (30 students). Then the researcher taught in the experimental class by using Personal Vocabulary NoteTechnique and in control class without using Personal Vocabulary NoteTechnique. After treatment, the researcher gave the post-test to both classes. The scores of pre-test and post-test were collected from twenty essay questions, then, it was analyzed by using SPSS V 20. The finding of this research shows that teaching vocabulary by using Personal Vocabulary NoteTechnique was effective. It is proved by tvalue (13.535) which is higher than ttable in the degree significance 5% (1.675). Furthermore, the test of hypotheses showed that sig 2 tailed (p) was 0.000 while alpha (α) was 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05) meaning that H0 (Null Hypothesis) was rejected and Hα (Alternative Hypothesis) was accepted. In others words, the use of Personal Vocabulary NoteTechnique in teaching vocabulary give significant effect on the students’ vocabulary mastery.
